Conflux got Sprites that are fast level 1 units that makes early game scouts. The two best towns are of course Conflux and Necropolis Still, one stack of peasants can eat up at least one whole retaliation. I personally tend to use lots of peasants on HOMM2 when the situation is right. Nonsense! The individual quality and versatility of the creature available to you compared to one that is currently not available is a pointless argument. "best creature in it's tier, therefore a good unit" or "worst creature in it's tier, therefore avoid it like the plague". It is so arbitrary, yet people assume that the creatures exist in tiers based on the positioning of their dwellings on the purchase screen. I especially detest the notion that there are "tiers" for the town creatures as well.

Every debate or "guide" on the HOMM games fall for these trappings. It's simply not worth your time to sit down and categorize who's better than who in general terms, becuase the game plays out in specifics. The long and the short of it is this: Develop your tactical skills and your management, and you'll be able to use any town-type in any situation and spin it to your advantage. As with anything else, it's all a matter of adjusting to suit the situation. Rating the "Player-friendliness" of the troops, as done above, is far more useful. Every town has a place where it's at the advantage and at the disadvantage. On the matter of assigning "tiers" to town types: Im not defending myself on the DLC front though, I realise by being impatient and forking out im part of the problem lol.Organmike: Having played Heroes 3 for a long, long time, I'd like to add my two cents, whatever they're worth. Ive got bigger things in life to worry about right now than a war on DLC for computer games, and tbh Im already really enjoying this, my only gripe are some animation stuttering and multiplayer is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but In a few patches this will be solid. Ide rather fork out and be playing it now tbh, though I can see the wisdom in waiting for expansions etc and getting them in packs to save money. In the mean time, their is already too much game out to play ! You don't need that buggy, half finish and greedy Heroes 7, you could have it better (well, knowing Ubi and how they patch it's not even a sure thing) for less money soon. Nowaday I only buy "complet" game, usualy Goty that are realeased only a year later, with all the content it should have (and even more) for a third of the price. You SHOULD vote with your wallet, and dont worry, IT WORK.Īnd you shouldn't fear to lack game to play, their is plenty old and new that wont screw you with DLCs.
